Less Plastic, More Value: Ñaming Delicious’ New Packaging Responds to a More Demanding Consumer
Packaging is no longer just a container. Today, it plays a key role in the purchasing experience, the perception of product quality and, increasingly, in brands’ environmental commitment.
In the vending channel, where purchasing decisions are made in just a few seconds, packaging has a dual purpose: attracting consumers’ attention while protecting a fresh product until the moment of consumption. But another challenge has become impossible to ignore: achieving this while reducing environmental impact.
With this vision in mind, Ñaming has redesigned the packaging for its Delicious range, a project driven by a clear objective: to move towards more sustainable solutions without compromising quality, food safety or the consumer experience.
A Change That Responds to Market Reality
Sustainability is no longer a trend—it has become a market requirement. Consumers, retailers and vending operators are increasingly demanding more responsible packaging that reduces material usage and improves recyclability without compromising product preservation.
The result is a new package that reduces plastic usage by 83%, cuts the weight of each unit by more than 15 grams, carries FSC® certification and achieves a recyclability rate of 83.56%.
What is FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) and what does it mean?
FSC® is an internationally recognised certification that guarantees the raw materials used come from responsibly managed forests. It ensures respect for the environment, biodiversity and local communities, while promoting a sustainable and fully traceable supply chain.
Sustainability Without Compromising Quality
Although the packaging has evolved towards a more sustainable design, it retains all the features that ensure product quality. The new packaging continues to use modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) technology, which is essential for maintaining freshness throughout the product’s shelf life, together with a robust structure that protects the sandwich from production through to consumption.
Greater Visibility, Same Identity
Packaging also plays a crucial role in influencing purchasing decisions. For this reason, the new Delicious packaging retains the visual identity that consumers already recognise while simplifying the design by removing the graphic elements previously printed on the film, creating a cleaner and more contemporary appearance.
The main innovation lies in the functionality of the packaging. The new window provides better product visibility, allowing consumers to see the contents more clearly both on shelves and in vending machines, reinforcing perceptions of freshness and quality. In a channel where purchasing decisions are made in a matter of seconds, offering a clearer view of the product can become a significant competitive advantage.
Innovation Goes Beyond the Product
The packaging redesign also coincides with improvements to several products within the range, including the evolution of the Club Bacon sandwich into Club Chicken with an enhanced recipe, and the update of the Club Tuna sandwich, while keeping the same EAN codes to simplify stock management for operators.
Looking Ahead
At Ñaming, we see innovation as a continuous improvement process that covers the entire product lifecycle. Innovation is not only about developing new recipes; it also means reviewing processes, optimising materials and finding solutions that create value for both consumers and our customers.
The new Delicious packaging perfectly reflects this philosophy: a more sustainable, more efficient package designed to meet the expectations of today’s consumers, who increasingly value brands that successfully combine quality, convenience and environmental responsibility.
